So, I had bought RumChata for New Year’s. One, it was on sale at one place for $4 off and two I had tried it before thinking I liked it but didn’t remember the flavor. Now, I have some RumChata left over and wanted to try some drinks that contained it. Previously, I had only tried it as a straight shot.
I decided to try the Honey Badger. Luckily, it is really easy to make.
- 2 parts Honey Bourbon/Whiskey
- 1 part RumChata
Put the Honey whatever you are using and the RumChata into a shaker with some ice. Shake it real good. If you want, have the music of “Whip It” playing in the background. Preferably without the lyrics. Anyways, once done poor into a shot glass.
I was hoping for a more vibrant golden color out of this but was sadly disappointed. It did change to a more golden color but barely noticeable.
I really wasn’t sure what to expect from this drink otherwise. Turns out, RumChata is a very powerful drink when it comes to overtaking other flavors. What happens is that the drink becomes a honey flavored RumChata with the kick of the whiskey(I used Wild Turkey American Honey) as it goes down. Which I like and therefore I am pretty sure I like more than just RumChata straight.
